We couldn’t be happier to host VT Food Swap and guest Marisa McClellan, blogger and author of the amazing canning bible Food in Jars. Marisa will share techniques from her new book and sign copies (available for purchase at HL). Immediately following the demonstration, VT Food Swap will host a food swap so feel free to bring anything delicious you’d like to trade; we’re sure you’ll find something tasty to barter for!
Notes about the Food Swap:
– there’s only one rule: your item(s) must be homemade by YOU
– bring samples to entice your fellow swappers (more samples = more fun)
– list your ingredients so guests with food allergies can make educated decisions
– bring a box so you can bring your homemade stuff to the store and your new friends’ homemade stuff home with you
About VT Food Swap: VT Food Swap was started by Sara Whitehair in October 2012 when she noticed that all over the country there was this great new food swap concept but none in VT! Since starting the group, VT Food Swap has hosted a number of food swaps in Waterbury and Waitsfield. It’s a great community gathering to meet fellow foodies and try new foods. About Marisa McClellan: Marisa McClellan is a full-time food writer and canning teacher, and is the sole blogger at Food in Jars.
