Calzones are an Italian culinary treasure! Meaning “stocking,” calzones are pizza pockets stuffed with cheese, herbs, sauce and veggies or meat. In this class, Kids will join Learning Center Chef-Instructor Laura Wright for a pizza stuffing extravaganza. Kids will begin by helping to make a home-made marinara sauce, full of fresh herbs and garlic. Then we’ll work on a cheesy filling made with mozzarella, parmesan, fresh herbs and more. Kids will learn to work with home-made pizza dough to form a pocket. Then we’ll stuff and seal the pockets, put them in the oven and bake them to a golden-brown finish. We’ll also make a garlicky dipping sauce to dunk your calzone in when it’s done. Bring your appetite!
This class is great for kids of any age. Children must be accompanied by an adult (Adult admission free). This class costs $20/child. To reserve your child’s place in class, please register and check-out using our secure on-line system or call us at Healthy Living, 802.863.2569 ext 1.
