Calzones are an Italian culinary treasure! Meaning “stocking,” calzones are pizza pockets stuffed with cheese, herbs, sauce and veggies or meat. In this class, Kids will join Learning Center Chef-Instructor Laura Wright for a pizza stuffing extravaganza. Kids will begin by helping to make a home-made marinara sauce, full of fresh herbs and garlic. Then we’ll work on a cheesy filling made with mozzarella, parmesan, fresh herbs and more. Kids will learn to work with home-made pizza dough to form a pocket. Then we’ll stuff and seal the pockets, put them in the oven and bake them to a golden-brown finish. We’ll also make a garlicky dipping sauce to dunk your calzone in when it’s done. Bring your appetite!
